About Us

We are Jonelle & Judith – a Christian married couple and parents of two little ones – and we are passionate about discipleship! We are both marketing professionals originally from Puerto Rico now living in South Florida, and we launched this website in the summer of 2019 as a response (leap of faith) to a fire in our hearts inspired by Deuteronomy 6: 5-7:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."

Therefore, we see discipleship as a family endeavor and are committed to raising our children fully and completely by nurturing their souls, bodies and hearts even before birth, as Deuteronomy 6: 5-7 commands.

Our purpose is to instill a biblical worldview in our children although at times this task seems to go against the latest parenting and philosophy trends (hence the name Untrendy Parenting). And even though we don’t (and never will) have everything figured out, we created this collaborative space as a result of being called to encourage other Christian parents of infants and toddlers to equip their children with the tools needed to thrive in a society that seems to keep moving farther away from God.

As Christian Parents, our vision is to live with intentionality, walk in integrity, seek unity under the same spirit and fulfill our God-given roles as “Papá & Mamá”.

Our mission is to be an Untrendy Parent and cast the vision of parents as the responsible party for their children’s spiritual formation. We aim to share everyday practical advice and resources with other Hispanics about how to fulfill our responsibility for discipling our children and raising them fully and completely – focusing on both their physical and eternal wellbeing.

And whether you are a wife, husband or a single parent, we are happy that you are here so we can share with you the resources we (together with other collaborators) have developed for Untrendy Parents who want to swim “contra la corriente”.
